Xcel family members,
I’m excited to release another phase to the Xcel journey. Our journey began in 2010 in this little town of Hendersonville with a lot of odds against what I had a vision and faith over the next 10 years could look like. My vision was for the young female athletes in this area to have a chance of life lessons with the best volleyball training in the country. Xcel has reached a plateau of being a top 100 clubs in the country and is well respected by the volleyball world. The first phase of this journey could not have been achieved without all the staff that has contributed over the past 10 years so a big thanks to all. As we enter into the next phase of the journey I have been in search of someone joining me and the Xcel Staff that could bring the best volleyball training in the country. I’m pleased to announce that Erik Vogt will be working with me to reach another milestone in the next journey.
Erik is thrilled to be joining Xcel as the new Associate Club Director. Erik comes from one of the top volleyball clubs in the country, Sports Performance Volleyball Club (SPVB). Coach Vogt began his professional career in 2008 with SPVB where he was immediately drawn to the dynamic training, incomparable commitment and winning mindset of the club. That champion mentality LED to Coach Vogt’s 16 Elite team winning the 2019 16 Open AAU National Championship. His previous team results are:
2018 16 Open 3rd Place finish;
2018 15 Open 1st Place finish (15 Elite Assistant Coach);
2017 18 Open 2nd Place finish (18 Elite Assistant coach);
2016 18 Open 1st Place finish (18 Elite Assistant Coach);
2016 18 World Division 1st Place finish (18 Elite Assistant Coach);
2015 16 Open 3rd Place finish;
2014 16 Open 1st Place finish in Silver bracket;
2013 16 Open 5th Place finish;
2012 16 Open 5th Place finish;
2011 16 Open 3rd Place finish.
Coach Vogt prides himself on developing elite athletes who pursue greatness. Under his guidance as the SPVB Recruiting Coordinator since 2015 Vogt has HELPED over 175 players commit to play volleyball at a university. Vogt has helped to place athletes at D1, D2, and D3 schools across the nation. A sampling of successful former players are Annika Albrecht (University of Nebraska 2x National Champion, All American), Lauren Carlini (US National Team, University of Wisconsin, All American, GPoY), Tiffany Clark (University of Wisconsin, Final Four, All American), Molly Haggerty (University of Wisconsin, Final Four, All American, GPoY), Rachel Minarick (All American)
Erik Vogt further fed his love of the game into the volleyball world through managing BestVolleyballVideos.comand as Social Media Manager for SPVB where he grew their reach to over 65,000 Facebook followers. He is an AVCA Region 6 voting member for USA Today Polls & AVCA Under Armour All-Americans and an active member of the JVA Awards committee.
Erik Vogt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa (‘06). There Vogt was named as a D3 1st Team All-American middle blocker and earned the title of Clarke College Male Athlete of the Year as the team captain in his senior year (2006). He completed his Master’s degree in Administration with a Sports Concentration from the University of Central Michigan (‘08).
